Trip to Texas Fall 2013

We flew back to Texas in November for the burying of my Mother, LeAnn's, ashes.  We happened to be there for my 30th birthday so my MIL, Mary Beth, threw a party for me.  It was wonderful to see everyone again; thanks Mary Beth!

there were a lot of kids at my party

Caroline Adele's 1st birthday

This was really low key. We celebrated with just the three of us here, although we did Skype with the grandparents to sing Happy Birthday and eat watermelon cake.  We did some pictures over a couple of days.  Sorry it is so picture heavy.  Please let me know if there are any images you want.

I'm working on the backlog!!!

I'll try to get things updated since I'm only behind 6 or 8 or 10 or who knows how many months.  But I was determined to get back on the wagon before a year went by!  I'll get things going with Addie's 1st birthday and try to be current before too long.  We have been crazy so far this year; that is not new.  Thankfully we still have plenty of uneventful weeks!

I spent about a month with my sister's family as she recovered from a broken leg and the surgery to fix it.

My stepmother had shoulder replacement surgery.  Andy's father had some heart surgery after being hospitalized.  Andy's grandmother also had some heart surgery.

Andy had surgery to remove his galbladder.  The surgeon said it was the worst he had ever seen.  I sure do hope that this is the last surgery of the year!!!

Andy has had several work trips.

Andy finished up his thesis, successful defended said thesis, and graduated (we think....we are still waiting to see that diploma).

We have been working on all sorts of projects - more on that later.

We have new neighbors we are getting to know.  They are close to our age with two kids; the eldest starts kindergarten this year.  They have been renovating for several months now.  We look forward to them moving in this summer.

We are spending more time with friends as we had hoped.  We are still working on expanding our social network.

We are very excited to have lots of visits from friends and family this summer.  Andy's aunt is even moving out to CA (about 1 hour away).

Addie is definitely on the move!  In the last few days, she has discovered screaming just because; to put it mildly, I am not pleased about the action or the note she hits.

Now I have to head to bed while the computer uploads about 700 pictures (eek...I told you I was behind...)
